The University of Hawai‘i System will conduct a test of its emergency notification system at 10 a.m. today, April 19, 2011.  The test involves all UH campuses including the UH Maui College campus in Kahului.

The UH Alert notification system is tested once per semester and includes automated emergency messages sent to students, faculty and staff via email or by opting-in to text messages on mobile phones.

The system is only activated for urgent situations that may impact the health and safety of the UH community, and for entire campus closures.  It is authorized for use in the event of a natural, health or civil emergency.
