Algae Treatment Forces Closure of 2 Maui Pools

Algae treatment will be conducted at two Central Maui pools this month.
The Department of Parks and Recreation, Aquatics Division will close the Old Wailuku Pool at the corner of Wells and Market Street on Monday and Tuesday, May 23 and 24, 2011 for the algae treatment. The pool will reopen at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, May 25.
The Kokua Pool at the Kahului Community Center will also be treated for algae. Work there is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, May 31. The pool will be closed on that day, and will reopen at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, June 1.
