According to a report from the John Burns School of Medicine to the 2010 legislature on physician shortages, hard data exists to show that Hawaii has a shortfall of over 600 physicians currently when compared to a community on the mainland of the same size.  The shortfall of physicians in Hawaii estimated at 1600 by 2020 making the addition of Dr. Saarheim-Riggs a welcome addition to the Kaiser Maui Lani Community.

Dr. Saarheim-Riggs has been certified by the American Board of Family Medicine physicians since 1996.
