Better Choices Better Health Flyer.

The County’s Office on Aging offers a six-week workshop in South Maui that promotes living well with chronic disease.  The series entitled, “Better Choices…Better Health,” begins July 8, 2011 and continues for six consecutive Fridays from 2 to 4:30 p.m., at the Hale Mahaolu Ehiku Community Room in Kihei.

The workshop provides practical information, tools and support to people of all ages who are interested in incorporating healthier habits into their lives.  The program also helps individuals with chronic conditions better manage their health.

The workshop series focuses on learning and implementing practical skills in controlling symptoms through relaxation, nutrition, improved communication skills, medication management, and exercise. Participants develop achievable “action plans” that are designed to lead to positive changes and greater confidence.
