Maui Central East Team Advances to State Little League Tourney

The Maui Central East Little League team advances to the state tournament on O’ahu after winning the District 3 Championship game at Iron Maehara Stadium in Wailuku on Monday.

The Central East team defeated Kihei in five innings, with a final score of 20-4.

The team of 13- and 14-year-olds are competing in the Junior Division.  They will travel to O’ahu next month for the state event taking place July 15-20, 2011 at Kailua High School.

The 12-member team is led by Head Coach James Legsay.
