A Hawaii drug testing company is reporting a drop in crystal methamphetamine use to the lowest level on record since testing stats were first tracked at the company in 2004.
Diagnostic Laboratory Services, Inc., the state’s largest locally owned drug testing company, reports a drop in crystal meth use from 1.1 percent to 0.4 percent. Company scientific director of toxicology, Carl Linden said the results are a welcome change from the increases recorded in previous years.
As for other substances, the company reported little change from last quarter:
- Synthetic urine: 1.5% to 1.6%
- THC (marijuana): 3% to 3.2%
- Cocaine: 0.3% to 0.4%
- Opiates: 0.2% remained unchanged
DLS typically includes between 7,000 to 10,000 drug tests in the quarterly sample results.
