Weekend Roundup: A Summer Bash, Dinner and Music, and Musicals

Early this morning, July 16, the crew from Maui Rents, a party supply and set up company, was creating the tent space for entertainment at Piilani Shopping Center. For some free fun, head over to Piilani Center’s Summer Bash in Kihei to check out some classic cars, live entertainment, and food from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Later this evening, July 16, kick back at Stella Blues Café in Kihei and enjoy the second album release from Ahumanu, titled No Ku’uipo. Liz Morales and Joni DeMello, of Ahumanu, will perform tracks from their newest CD, while dinner and drinks are served up. Then on Sunday July 17, the Maui Academy of Performing Arts, have their matinee performance of the play, Honk! Jr. Shows will run through July 15-17 and July 22-24, on Fridays and Saturdays, at 7:30 p.m. and Sundays at 2:00 p.m. The Steppingstone Playhouse at the Queen Ka’ahumanu Shopping Center will feature this contemporary retelling of the “ugly duckling” story. I'ao Theatre in Wailuku

Also on Sunday, Chicago, the musical, plays at I’ao Theatre in Wailuku at 3:00 p.m. Maui OnStage has created an exciting jazzy production of this sexy play.
