The County of Maui Department of Parks and Recreation will temporarily close two county playgrounds.

The playground at Wailuku Heights will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday August 3-4, for the installation of a new chain climber. The playground will be fenced off during the closure period.

Also on Maui, the entire Keopuolani playground in Kahului will be closed for repair and replacement work on Wednesday and Thursday, August 3-4 between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on both days.

Last month, parks officials on Maui closed a wooden playground structure located within Hui Aloha playground at the Keopuolani Park in Kahului due to safety concerns as repair and replacement options were evaluated.

The community is asked to not enter either playground during the above specified times for safety reasons.
