Rescue teams from Coast Guard and Maui Fire Department came to the aid of mariners in two separate incidents along the west side of Molokai on Saturday.

Crews safely escorted boaters on a 20-foot recreational vessel that was taking on water to Kepuhi Bay on Saturday afternoon after receiving a mayday call at around 4:55 p.m. A rescue swimmer provided boaters with a de-watering pump to control the flooding and enable the vessel to restart its engines.

Crews also responded to two disabled jet skiers who called from their cell phone about an hour later at 5:49 p.m.  The jet skiers were also towed to Kephui Bay without incident.
