A 65-year-old Lahaina man is in critical condition this morning following a single-vehicle moped accident in West Maui on Sunday afternoon.

The accident was reported at 9:39 p.m. on Lower Honoapiilani Road, about 300 feet north of Hale Malia Place.

According to police reports, the moped was traveling south on the roadway when the operator lost control of the moped, left the roadway onto the right shoulder, and collided with a palm tree.
