Customers in the Upper Ulumalu area of Haiku are being asked to conserve water today due to repairs taking place in the area.

Crews from the County of Maui Department of Water Supply are repairing faulty pressure regulators.

“Approximately 25 homes in the uppermost part of the Maui Ranch Estates subdivision have low water pressure, and possibly no water until the regulators are repaired,” said Jacky Takakura, Administrative Officer for the Maui DWS.

Takakura said the water system is expected to return to normal conditions by Wednesday.

In the interim, customers in the entire subdivision are urged to conserve water by turning off irrigation systems and other non-essential uses of water.

Portable water tankers are available at Pakanu Road, and at the intersection of Koolau Road and Lanikai Place for customers to fill up their own containers.
