Chun Named to Newly Created Post at Maui Memorial

The Maui Memorial Medical Center named Leslie B. Chun M.D., to the newly created post of Chief of Clinical and Medical Affairs.
In his new capacity, Dr. Chun will lead all non-nursing clinical areas and oversee case management, social work, quality and patient safety, and clinical service line development at the hospital.
Dr. Chun grew up in East Honolulu and graduated from Iolani School. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Biological Science from Harvard University and his M.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles. Dr. Chun also holds a master’s in business administration from the UCLA Anderson School of Management.
He most recently served as a Director of Health Care Quality and a Hospitalist at Newton-Wellesley Hospital in New England.
Previously, Dr. Chun was Medical Director of Clinical Development for Health Dialog Analytic Solutions in Boston, Massachusetts, a leading company in disease management.
“Dr. Chun is an extraordinary asset to our executive team,” said Maui Region Chief Executive Officer Wesley Lo. “His enthusiasm and qualifications will bring an invigorated and fresh perspective to Maui Memorial,” he said.
Dr. Chun will work closely with Joanne Iritani, MMMC Chief Nurse Executive, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Rod Bjordahl in efforts to strengthen clinical capabilities at the hospital.
