With more than 1200 attending last year, the 9th Annual Molokai Chamber of Commerce Business & Food Expo will again celebrate Molokai’s agriculture and food products industries with several Maui celebrity chefs.

The Molokai Business & Food Expo will take place on Saturday, November 5 at the Lanikeha Center in Hoolehua, Molokai from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The lineup for the event includes chef demonstrations, gourmet food booths, prizes, music and entertainment.

“With the recession we’re in, it’s inspiring to see the Molokai community get together and celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit that is the backbone of our business community,” said Robert Stephenson, president of the Molokai Chamber of Commerce. “Most of our businesses are small, each with just a handful of people working toward the common goal of strengthening our economy and creating jobs so we can all provide for our families.”

Throughout the day top chefs from Maui will create and dish up unique recipes using Molokai products, which will also be offered for sale so everyone can get a taste.

2011 Chef Lineup includes: Chef Sherwood Hiro, Hotel Molokai; Chef Christopher Schobel Hula Grill Kaanapali; Chef Dean Louie, Maui Culinary Academy; Chef Chris Speere, Maui Culinary Academy; and Chef Ryan Ferguson, Leilani’s on the Beach.

The Master of Ceremonies is Lyndon Roxford Lanakila “Dog Walker” Dela Cruz, and entertainment will be provided by Moana’s Hula Halau, Kala ‘n Friends, and the Anahaki Box Band.

Vendor applications are available online at and must be submitted by October 31. For more vendor information, please contact Colleen Colipano, at (808) 552-2807 or [email protected]
