The group, joined by Maui resident Richard Dancil, filed the complaint, alleging counts against the mayor, Office of Economic Development, County of Maui, Lahaina Town Action Committee and others, sources tell Maui Now.

The mayor’s office responded today saying only that corporation counsel has the document, and it is under review.

The five counts reportedly include allegations of: civil rights violations, and failure to file an environmental impact statement.

Because of the extensive entities named in the complaint, court staff said it could take some time before the summons is available for public review.
