REO Speedwagon Concert Is Almost Here
By Madeline Ziecker
Classic rock band REO Speedwagon‘s concert in the MACC’s Castle Theater on Sunday, November 27 at 7:30 p.m is rapidly approaching.
REO Speedwagon‘s music is the classically loud, fast, and adrenaline-pumping old-school rock that has survived decades. The band has taken advantage of music technology over the years, especially in the 1980s, but they continue to deliver their signature sound to audiences globally every year.
The original REO Speedwagon was formed in Champaign, Illinois in 1967 and has since changed band members several times. The group currently consists of five members, Neal Doughty (keyboards, organ, piano, synthesizers), Kevin Cronin (lead vocals, rhythm guitar, pian0), Bruce Hall (bass guitar, vocals), Dave Amato (lead guitar, banjo, dobro, backing vocals, 12 string guitar), and Bryan Hitt (drums, percussion).
The band is best known for their chart-topping hit album “Hi Infidelity,” released in the 80s. Since their debut decades ago, REO Speedwagon has sold 22 million albums in the US and 40 million worldwide.
Maui REO Speedwagon fans can look forward to hearing classic hits at the upcoming concert including “Keep On Loving You,” “Take It On The Run” and “Time for Me To Fly.” Their most recent album, “Find Your Own Way Home,” was released in 2007.
