State Director Presents at Year-End Tax Dept Workshops
By Sonia Isotov
Director of Taxation Fred Pablo and staff from the Department of the Attorney General will make presentations at the Hawaii Tax Department’s annual Year-End Workshop held on each island beginning November 30.
Presentations of particular importance for the upcoming 2012 tax filing season will cover changes to Hawaii tax forms and the expansion of the department’s e-filing program. In addition, Director of Taxation Fred Pablo will address some of the collection-related issues that practitioners have raised with him over the last few months, and the Department of the Attorney General will provide an update on Hawaii tax cases being litigated.
“I learned a lot by meeting tax professionals and other workshop attendees throughout the state during our summer workshops in August,” said Director of Taxation Fred Pablo, in a written statement. “These workshops afford me the opportunity to hear from and speak with them directly.”
All workshops will begin at 8:30 a.m. and end at 12:30 p.m., with check-in beginning at 8 a.m.
The cost for the Year-End Workshop is $80 for each person registering at least one week prior to the selected workshop, and $100 for those who register after that. The registration fee includes a continental breakfast, all workshop materials, and four hours of Continuing Professional Education credit. Additional workshop materials may also be purchased separately for $25 per set.
