Work includes the installation of new sidewalk connections, crosswalk markings, and street name signs.

Work hours are daily from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

A public notice issued by contractor Maui Master Builders, Inc. indicates that Kamehameha Avenue will be closed to through traffic at certain times during construction.

The intersection was the site of a fatal traffic collision in March 2009.

In an effort to improve safety, a flashing stop signal had been placed at the intersection for motorists traveling along Kamehameha Avenue, who yield to oncoming right-of-way traffic from Hina Avenue.
