The National Weather Service in Honolulu has issued a High Surf Advisory for the north facing shores of Maui which will be in effect until 6 p.m. on Saturday, December 10.

A growing northwest swell will result in dangerous surf on exposed shores, along with rip currents and localized beach erosion.

Surf will build Wednesday night and reach grand heights of 16-22 feet starting on Thursday with a gradual decline through the weekend.
