BRIEF: Kahului Airport Weekend Runway Maintenance

Residents of Wailuku and Kahului on Maui are advised of increased air traffic over the weekend, due to airfield maintenance at Kahului Airport.

Runway 2/20 will be closed on Sunday morning, December 11, between 1 and 5 a.m., for routine maintenance.

Officials with the state Department of Transportation say work is being done in the early morning hours to minimize disruption to airport services.

During the maintenance, flight patterns for arriving and departing cargo flights will be modified, resulting in an increased in air traffic for the Wailuku and Kahului areas.
