The public is encouraged to attend and provide comments.

MECO held meetings last year to discuss alternative routes for a new 69 kV transmission line between Maalaea Power Plant and South Kihei.

According to an evaluation study on the proposed 69kV Kihei Transmission Line published last year, MECO officials said the project was intended to provide the infrastructural support necessary to meet the growing needs of the South Maui Community.
