Kannapali Beach Club Employees Ratify 3-Year Union Contract

The Kaanapali Beach Club and the  UNITE Here Local 5 employee union have reached an agreement and ratified a contract.

Employees at the Kaanapali Beach Club, a timeshare operation of Diamond Resorts International  have ratified a new three-year contract that covers approximately 200 workers.

Cade Watanabe, a spokesman for the Local 5, told the Pacific Business News that the new deal includes hourly wage increases amounting to $1.85 for nontipped workers and 65 cents for tipped workers over the life of the contract, retroactive to April 2011 and effective until April 2014.

The Kaanapali Beach Club at the beginning of Honokawai, north of Lahaina, at the former Embassy Suites Hotel location and has 413 rooms.
