A meeting to discuss the potential relocation of the Lahaina public transit hub takes place this Friday, January 27, 2012, from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Lahaina Civic Center.
West Maui Council Member Elle Chochran is soliciting public input regarding five suggested relocation options.
The hub is currently located at the Wharf Cinema Center on Luakini Street in Lahaina.
Alternative locations to be discussed include: a location adjoining the Lahaina harbor, the parking lot across from Kamehameha III Elementary School, the parking lot across from 505 Front Street, a site near the Lahaina Aquatic Center, and a property near the former Pioneer Mill.
Public input regarding the proposed alternatives, and suggestions for additional alternative sites are welcome.
Among those invited to attend are: Director of Transportation Jo Anne Johnson Winer, Director of Planning William Spence, Deputy Director of Public Works Rowena Dagdag-Andaya, and a representative from the Police Department.
The meeting is open to the public.
