New Food Trailer Brings Gourmet to Tech Park
By Sonia Isotov
Chef owners Douglas and Belia Paul opened a new gourmet food “trailer” in the Maui Research and Technology Park called “My Office” last October, and have been pleasing the Tech Park crowd of over 500+ employees ever since.
“Employees no longer have to eat at their desks or drive out of the Park to find delicious flavors and reasonable prices right outside their door,” said Douglas Paul, the chef and owner of My Office.
Their food “trailer” is a brand, new 20×8 fully-equipped kitchen trailer that serves a bistro-style breakfast and lunch to go. Bistro-style food includes soups, salads, sandwiches, fruit, cookies, and more. The couple park their trailer in front of the Park Plaza Building.
“We enjoy cooking in an environmentally-friendly way by using bio-degradable containers, buying local whenever we can, and recycling everything,” said Paul.
“Being a restaurant owner is great because I can make whatever I want. We just do it.”
Before opening My Office, Douglas Paul was the operations manager at the Maui Culinary Academy for eight years, and previous to that he served as the pastry chef at Spago Maui when it first opened.
Currently the general manager of Haili’imaile Restaurant, Belia Paul adds her experience in kitchen and human resources to their new business as well.
“I love finding seasonal ingredients and making my brains creation become a reality,” added Belia Douglas.
