Nā Hōkū Award Winners May Play Maui Concert

Talented Nā Hōkū Hanohano 2012 Award winners may perform on Saturday, July 14 for a special concert at the MACC at 7 p.m. in the Yokouchi Pavilion, if a deal is struck.

For those unfamiliar with the popular Nā Hōkū Hanohano Music Festival, it’s an annual music event featuring unique workshops and panel discussions presented by The Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts (HARA).

The festival is held every May during Mele Mei – a month-long celebration of Hawaiian music in Waikiki. Over 60 of Hawaii’s best performing artists lead the festival, and winners in 27 categories take home prestigious titles for their talented works.

Now that Nā Hōkū winners have had some time to soak in the glory of their well-deserved recognition, some could be gathering on Maui to give the “Valley Isle” audience a glimpse of what they missed in Oahu last month.
