Customers in the Maui Meadows subdivision in South Maui are advised to conserve water following a pump motor failure on Sunday, June 17, 2012.
Officials from the Maui Department of Water Supply said that as a result of the pump failure, the demand for water cannot be met at this time in the area.
Customers are urged to shut off all irrigation systems and use water only as needed for the remainder of the day.
Department officials say the pump should be repaired by the end of the day, and water levels in the storage tanks should return to normal by Monday morning, June 18, 2012.
