The Gas Company Expands Propane Storage 25%

Today, The Gas Company (TGC) dedicated the expansion of its Maui facility with a blessing and the presentation of $5,000 donation to Hale Makua Health Services.
TGC celebrated the recent addition of 180,000 gallons of propane storage, an increase of 25%, to its storage capacity on Maui.
As of December 31, 2011, residential gas sales in Maui County have increased nearly 25% and gas customers have increased nearly 30% since 2006. There were also 608 gas customers (includes residential and other) in Maui County, according to the Maui County Data Book 2011.
“This new facility represents TGC’s commitment to reliability of service and improved energy security for Maui,” said Mustafa Demirbag, the general manager of TGC in Maui County. Demirbag has been with TGC for 18 years.
“The existing and new tanks can provide up to five weeks of clean gas energy for Maui customers.”
The company also plans to increase storage capacity on the islands of Oahu, Hawaii and Kauai.
TGC has been serving the Maui community for the past 47 years and now employs 23 energy professionals to serve customers on the Maui.
The Gas Company is a subsidiary of the publicly-owned Macquarie Infrastructure Company.
