A Maui home was gutted by fire this afternoon in an old Wailuku neighborhood.

We received reports of heavy smoke coming from the residential area of Pakahi Street at around 3 p.m.

When our film crew arrived on scene, firefighters were actively fighting the blaze at a two-story residence at 2055 Pakahi Street, between Market and Church Street.

Fire Chief Lee Mainaga said crews arrived to find the two-story wooden home full involved.

The cause and damage estimates are pending release. No injuries were reported.
