New voters are reminded that Thursday, July 12, 2012, is the last day to register to vote in the primary election.

Completed voter registration forms must be turned in to the appropriate city or county clerk’s office by 4:30 p.m. on July 12, or postmarked by midnight if mailed.

Wikiwiki Voter Registration Forms are available at:

  • all US post offices;
  • all public libraries;
  • in the Yellow Pages;
  • at the Office of Elections web site: www.hawaii.gov/elections;
  • at the the City or County Clerk’s offices;
  • and at most state agencies

In order to vote in the state of Hawai’i primary election, you must be a US citizen, a resident of Hawai’i, and at least 18 years old.

Currently registered voters that have changed their name or moved since the last election should re-register before the voter registration deadline.

The primary election is on Saturday, August 11, 2012. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on that day.
