Rescue crews were sent to help two individuals offshore of Ka’anapali yesterday afternoon when brisk trade winds prevented them from getting back to shore on their own.
The 12 and 20 year old females from Florida were on a raft about 100 yards offshore of the Honua Kai Resort when witnesses noticed the pair in distress at around 2:15 on Thursday afternoon, officials said.
Ocean safety crews aboard a rescue ski brought the two to shore.
Authorities say they did not require medical attention.
