β€œI am thankful that Governor Neil Abercrombie has released these monies and that a contract for this important work was awarded,” said Rep. Angus McKelvey whose district includes Lahaina, Ka’anapali, Kapalua, Ma’alaea, and Kihei.

β€œIt is imperative that our students have the best facilities to continue to be successful and safe in not only academics, but athletics as well,” he said.

Money for this project was secured by West Maui lawmakers during the 2010 legislative session in the state budget for Fiscal Year 2010-11.
