Temporary Water Outage on South Kihei Road

Officials with the Maui Department of Water Supply are working to restore water service to customers along portions of South Kihei Road.

The outage was reported before 6:30 p.m. and is due to a broken service lateral.  DWS officials say crews are working on repairs to the line, and expect to have service restored within three hours.

Areas affect include customers on South Kihei Road from Walaka Street to Alanui Kealii Drive.  Maui Coast Hotel, Pacific Shores, Worldmark Kihei, and the Maui Vista properties are also affected.

Traffic is not affected; however pedestrians should use caution as personnel are working in the sidewalk area.

Customers are asked to call the DWS service number at (808) 270-7633 only in a water emergency.
