Maui Police say the involvement of speed and alcohol are suspected in a crash on Baldwin Avenue that sent three young adults to the hospital overnight.

The single-vehicle crash was reported at 9:05 p.m. on Wednesday October 31, 2012, on Baldwin Avenue just East of Holomua Road.

According to police reports, the collision occurred when a green 1996 Pontiac Sunfire, headed west on Baldwin Avenue, traveled partially off of the roadway onto the west-bound shoulder. Police say the vehicle then traveled back across the roadway onto the east-bound shoulder where it collided into a rock barrier, and went down an embankment into Rainbow Park.
