Iao Valley Toll Booth Destroyed by Fire

A weekend fire destroyed the parking toll booth at ‘Iao Valley State Park on Maui, resulting in a total of $4,000 in damage, fire officials said.
Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga said the cause of the fire was classified as undetermined, but components found in the investigation revealed some sort of vandalism.
The incident was reported by a park employee, who reported that the toll booth had completely burned down to the ground.
When crews from the Maui Fire Department’s Engine 1 in Wailuku responded to the scene at 9:02 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2012, they confirmed that the booth had burned down sometime during the previous night.
