String of Lahaina Brush Fires Burns 1 Acre

Firefighters worked Sunday night to put out four separate brush fires in Lahaina.

Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga said a total of about one acre of brush was burned in the incident along Hokiokio Place.

The incident was first reported at 7:14 p.m. on Sunday, December 9, 2012, and all fires were extinguished by 9:15 p.m.

Upon investigation, the cause of the fires was undetermined, and there were no monetary losses.
