The University of Hawaii’s 10 campuses, including UHMC here on Maui, will be reducing or suspending operations on non-instructional days during winter break.

The reduced operations begin today, December 17, 2012, and run through January 1, 2013.

University officials say the reduction in operations is in support of continuing efforts to reduce energy consumption and recover cost savings.

All offices will be closed on the upcoming state holidays including: Christmas on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012, and New Year’s Day on Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013.

Certain critical or time sensitive functions or specialized facilities may continue to operate.  Athletic events at UH Mānoa and UH Hilo will also be held as scheduled.
