Strong Winds Continue for Haleakala and Lanai

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Advisory for the Summit of Haleakala above the 6,000 foot elevation, and the island of Lanai.

The wind advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m. on Tuesday, February 5, 2013.

Winds are expected to be blowing from the northeast at 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts up to 45 mph through this morning.

Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles.

The advisory is also in effect for north and south Kohala, as well as Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island of Hawai’i.
