3 Hunters Rescued at Polipoli

Three hunters were rescued from the Waiakoa Loop Trail early this morning after becoming disoriented and lost in the mountainous terrain of Polipoli last night.
Firefighters from Makawao and rescue personnel from Kahului were dispatched to the scene at around 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Mar. 6, 2013.

The men, ages 40, 27, and 21, were located at 2 a.m. this morning in good health, according to Maui Fire Services Chief Lee Mainaga.
They were able to make it safety out to the trail head by 3 a.m., with no injuries reported, and no medical attention required, said Mainaga.
