Pukalani Man Arrested After Scuffle at Foodland

Police arrested a 21-year-old Pukalani man who got into a scuffle when he was stopped for stealing liquor from Foodland in Pukalani.

The man was seen taking a bottle of rum, which was concealed in his pants when he paid for other items at 7 p.m., according to Lt. Jayson Rego of the Criminal Investigation Division.

The man was stopped at the exit and got into a struggle with employees before managing to break free and run, Rego said.

At 10:35 p.m. police officers located the suspect, a former store employee at his residence. Value of the liquor stolen was about $21.
