Tomorrow night from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Molokini Bar and Grill in the Makena Beach and Golf Resort, you can explore the world of organic wines.

As part of their monthly Food and Wine Education Series, Master Sommelier Patrick Okubo will be on hand to discuss the three wines.

There are 118 professionals who have earned the title Master Sommelier in North America – and just three in Hawaii. Oahu resident Okubo is one of them.

In addition to the wine, there will be food pairings created by Makena’s Executive Chef Marc McDowell.

The menu includes a Hawaiian Sustainable Salad with Lanai ebi (shrimp) caught at a depth of 1800 feet, Big Island hearts of palm, mango, beans, avocado, tomatoes, and a passion fruit vinaigrette. This will be paired with the 2011 Sustainable Carmel Road Chardonnay.

The pepper-seared ahi with Molokai purple potatoes, baby bok choy and sour cherry demi-glace will be served alongside the 2010 Organic Domaine Carneros Pinot Noir.

The event is $40, not including tax or gratuity.
