Haleakalā National Park continues parking lot accessibility improvements through September, officials said.

The work will result in the full closure of the Puʻuʻulaʻula or Red Hill parking lot, located at the 10,000-foot elevation for one week beginning next Thursday, July 18th, a park announcement said.

Park officials say visitors and residents should expect continued heavy construction traffic on both the Haleakalā Highway and Crater Road.
