Glenn KL Yee, a veteran financial officer and executive for several Hawaiʻi businesses, was named chief financial officer of Island Air, the company announced today.
Yee most recently served as CFO and treasurer at Steeltech, Inc., a specialty contractor for industrial and commercial buildings, based in Hawaiʻi.
He also served for eight years as vice president of finance for Hawaiian Dredging Construction Company.
“Glenn is a highly respected corporate finance figure in Hawaii and is a great addition to our evolving Island Air team,” said Island Air CEO Paul Casey.
“He brings with him the experience Island Air needs to expand into a modern inter-island air carrier that will serve not only visitors, but residents who depend on air travel to move between the islands,” said Casey.
Yee responded to the announcement saying, “This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help build a much-needed, strong alternative airline for Hawaiʻi.”
Yee said he’s inspired by the company’s response, “to the need for island residents to have a dependable and affordable means of inter-island travel.”
Yee new position with Island Air took effect on July 8, 2013.
