Safeway Maui Lani Grand Opening on Friday

The new Safeway store at Maui Lani in Wailuku officially opens to the public at 8 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20.

The store brings to four the total number of Safeway locations on Maui.  Other retail locations include Kahului, Lahaina and Kīhei.

The new Maui Lani Safeway is located at 58 Maui Lani Parkway, west of the Kaiser Maui Lani clinic, and south of Baldwin High School.

It is the anchor tenant of a the Maui Lani Center which includes a total of 105,000 square-feet of retail, restaurant and office space.

The grand opening event includes a 12 hour sale on store specials including items such as Spam, Kula Farms strawberries, and Safeway brand Calrose Rice, according to company advertisements.

According to the company website, Safeway Inc. operates more than 1,600 stores in the United States and western Canada, and had annual sales of $44.2 billion in 2012.
