Water Shutdown Scheduled for Part of Kahului Overnight

A portion of Kahului on Maui will be without water overnight due to work associated with water system improvements.

Personnel from the Maui Department of Water Supply say work involves the replacement of two valves on Holua Drive in Kahului.

Work begins at 9 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 18, and service should be restored by 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19.

The work will affect customers on portions of Papa Avenue (between Kea Street and Kunihi Place), Holua Drive (between Kea Street and Papa Avenue), and Hilu Place.  The water outage will also affect the Department of Health and Department of Land and Natural Resources offices on Mahalani Street.
