St. Anthony Junior-Senior High School on Maui is the recipient of a $2,150 grant from the Augustine Educational Foundation for S.T.E.M. program enhancements for education focused on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math, school officials announced.

The funds will be used to, “support the Science Olympiad Team on campus and provide students with tools and supplies to carry out Science Olympiad experiments in the classroom and at competitions,” officials said.

Head of School, Betsey Gunderson, said the school is grateful for the support to ensure students have the tools they need to succeed.

“When adequate tools and supplies are available for classroom projects, the curriculum culminating in a working Science Olympiad project provides an opportunity for students to learn how to work together outside the classroom,” said Gunderson in a media release statement.

The Augustine Educational Foundation was founded in 1984, to provide tuition assistance to help families with financial needs that count on HawaiĘ»i Catholic Schools for their children’s education.
