For the second consecutive night, a record low temperature was tied at the Kahului Airport on Maui, compared to low temperatures on record for previous years on the same dates.
The National Weather Service recorded a record low temperature of 60 degrees on Monday, Nov. 25, tying the old record set for the same day in 1972 and 1951.
The NWS also recorded a low temperature of 59 degrees at Kahului Airport on Sunday, Nov. 24, tying the old record set for the same day in 1972.
The forecast for tonight and Wednesday evening calls for lows near 63 degrees with mostly clear skies.
Forecasters from the NWS say trade winds will continue through Wednesday with limited showers over the windward and mauka areas.
A cold front, approaching the state from the northwest, is expected to increase the chance of heavy rain and thunderstorms from late Thursday through the weekend, according to the NWS.
