Maui Electric Company will be using helicopters to conduct routine power line inspections throughout the island on Tuesday, Dec. 17, the company announced.

The inspection work is slated to take place between 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., and is weather permitting.

“Routine aerial inspections of Maui Electric’s equipment, including electrical lines, poles and substations, are necessary to maintain stable and reliable electrical service for the Maui community,” the announcement said.
