No Advisories After 2.9 Earthquake Near Volcano, Hawaiʻi

There were no immediate advisories issued following a 2.9 preliminary magnitude earthquake reported at 10:02 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013, near Volcano on Hawaiʻi Island.

The US Geological Survey reports that the quake was centered 4 miles SW of Volcano, Hawaiʻi; 24 miles WSW of Hawaiian Paradise Park, Hawaiʻi; 26 miles SSW of Hilo, Hawaiʻi; 49 miles ESE of Kailua-Kona, Hawaiʻi; and 213 miles SE of Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 5 km, according to the USGS.
