Monsanto Education Fund Awards $12,000 to Hawaiʻi Schools

Fourteen Hawaiʻi public schools and educational organizations were recently awarded more than $12,000 in grants from the Monsanto Hawaiʻi Science Education Fund.

The fund was established by The Monsanto Fund, the not-for-profit philanthropic arm of the Monsanto Company, to support science education in Hawaii’s public schools.

The list of recipients included Hāna High & Elementary School, Hawaiʻi State Science Olympiad, HP Baldwin High School, ʻĪao Intermediate School, Kalākaua Middle School, Kapolei High School, King Kekaulike High School, Maui High School, Mililani Middle School, Moanalua High School, Molokaʻi High School, Pearl City High School, Radford High School and Waipahu High School.

The funds will support a variety of programs, including: robotics, renewable energy projects, a watershed service learning field trip, a composting project, and equipment and supplies for chemistry and science classes.

The grant program is available on Oʻahu, Maui and Molokaʻi, communities where Monsanto employees live and work.
