Lahaina Man Charged with Meth Trafficking

Maui police arrested a Lahaina man for methamphetamine trafficking and other drug related charges on Thursday after a search turned up more than 8 grams of crystal methamphetamine.

Paea K. Faleta, 41, of Lahaina, was arrested and charged with: first degree methamphetamine trafficking, three counts of promoting a dangerous drug, four counts of prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia, and place to keep ammunition.

Lt. William Juan said Lahaina patrol and vice officers executed a search warrant on the Lahaina home at around 6:10 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 20.

As a result of the search, he said the following items were recovered as evidence: 8.42 grams of crystal methamphetamine; four glass pipes; a paper bindle containing crystal methamphetamine; a surveillance camera and monitor; and two shotgun rounds.

Faleta was being held in lieu of $17,200 bail at last report, police said.
