Power Restored to 5,300 After Vehicle Hits Pole in Wailuku

An estimated 5,300 electric customers in parts of Wailuku and Kahului lost power overnight when a vehicle hit a pole in Wailuku, according to Maui Electric Company Spokesperson Kauʻi Awai-Dickson.

The outage was reported at around 1:40 a.m., with power restored to about 5,100 customers within an hour, representatives said.

The remaining customers were brought back online shortly after 3 a.m., according to the company.
